Bringing trusted information, practical guidance and lived experiences together to help bereaved Armed Forces families navigate life after loss.
Losing someone you love can turn your world upside down. For families connected to the Armed Forces, bereavement can bring untold additional challenges; navigating unfamiliar systems, finding specialist support, or understanding where to turn when everything feels overwhelming.
Yet support can be difficult to navigate, with information spread across different organisations, websites and services. Beyond the Wire set out to change that.

Over two years of research, collaboration and development, the Beyond the Wire Bereavement Hub was created to bring the military bereavement community closer to the support they need.
Working alongside Beyond the Wire, the Andrew Simpson Foundation helped shape the hub from an initial ambition into a national resource designed around the real experiences and needs of bereaved Armed Forces families.
The project was informed by research and collaboration, helping build an understanding of the challenges faced by bereaved families and the support that could make a meaningful difference.
The result is a dedicated online space bringing together trusted organisations, practical guidance, quick-reference resources and lived experiences, helping people find their way through a landscape that can otherwise feel fragmented and difficult to navigate.

The launch of the Bereavement Hub marks an important milestone, but it is also the beginning of the next stage.
The platform provides a foundation that can grow alongside the needs of the military bereavement community, with future development focused on creating more opportunities for connection, improving access to relevant information and making support easier to find.
For the Andrew Simpson Foundation, it demonstrates how thoughtful digital design, collaboration and research can help address complex challenges, creating something practical, accessible and built around people. Because finding support after loss should not mean having to navigate the system alone.
