Community
outreach

Working with local schools, community groups, youth services, and social care providers

At the Andrew Simpson Foundation, we believe sailing, water, and land-based learning should be accessible to all. Our active community outreach connects young people, families, and local groups with the benefits of outdoor education, no matter their background.

Through partnerships with schools, youth services, social care providers, and grassroots organisations, we deliver inclusive, engaging experiences on and off the water. Whether you’re planning an event, looking for a local sailing taster session, or hoping to bring maritime education into your classroom, we’re here to help.

Where you’ll find us

Our outreach team is active throughout the UK, working from our regional sailing centres and travelling to community events, festivals, and schools.

We regularly deliver:

  • School activity workshops and marine education sessions
  • Pop-up sailing, watersports and sports events at festivals and public gatherings
  • Youth outreach programmes and inclusive taster days
  • Partnership events with charities and local authorities

Where we work

Way to get involved

Looking to introduce your community to sailing and the outdoors? Whether you’re a teacher, community organiser, or part of a youth organisation, we offer several ways to get involved.

Host a sailing workshop

Invite our team to deliver hands-on sessions in your school or youth group. We provide engaging content that supports curriculum learning and builds confidence.

Book a guest speaker

Planning a community event or conference? We can speak about the impact of physical activity on wellbeing, inclusion, and life skills, or even bring a small interactive setup.

Join an open day

Visit one of our open access events to learn more about our work and try out activities in a safe, welcoming environment to see how it could benefit you or your group.

Try out a taster session

Experience sailing and watersports firsthand! We offer tasters in a huge range of watersports activities for both adults and young people.

Visit a community hub

Each of our regional hubs offers public programmes, school partnerships, and family events throughout the year.

Are you a school, charity, or organisation working with young people or underserved communities?

We’re always looking for meaningful partnerships to expand access to sailing and marine education.

We can help co-deliver: Alternative provision programmes, Outdoor education modules, and Community skills training and engagement sessions
