In partnership with RNSA and Greenwich Hospital
We are delighted to work with the Royal Naval Sailing Association (RNSA) as the delivery partner for the RNSA Youth Crew Programme funded by Greenwich Hospital.
The programme was created to make sailing fun and accessible to the families of Royal Navy, Royal Marine and Royal Fleet Auxiliary personnel based across the UK.
Aimed towards children aged 11 to 17, no previous experience is necessary with all training and certification provided free of charge thanks to the generous funding of Greenwich Hospital.
Sailing is widely acknowledged to provide a great vehicle to develop life skills in young people, including self-confidence, team working, communication skills, resilience, a willingness to try new things and making friends. Furthermore, it can really help to improve overall health and well-being of the whole family unit.
Encouraging participation after the courses for those who wish is important and the concept behind RNSA’s Youth Crew is that the young people form part of a group that will help them continue their sailing journey.
Family Days are also held for children and families from the Royal Navy, Royal Marines and Royal Fleet Auxiliary. They are a perfect opportunity to learn about what the RNSA Youth crew has to offer, as well as being fun day on the water for all, consisting of a mix of sailing and paddlesports.
Working in collaboration with the Royal Naval Sailing Association (RNSA), the ASF is the delivery partner for RNSA Youth Crew. The programme is delivered from seven locations across the UK and to date enabled 477 young people from the Royal Navy community to achieve their RYA Stage 1 and 2 certificates. In total the programme has provided over 2300 days of activity, including family days and regular participation clubs, funded by Greenwich Hospital. Link to case study and website

“So far the opening Sailing weeks have been fantastic, getting to see young people out and about on the water is really exciting, and there’s been a great buzz around the Centres.”

Development Project Manager, Andrew Simpson Foundation
As part of our wider support for the RNSA Youth Crew, we deliver a full suite of digital, branding, and system solutions to amplify the project’s reach and impact. Our team led brand ideation workshops, developed a bespoke visual identity, and built a dedicated website to streamline participant bookings. We manage bookings and communication through a custom CRM improving efficiency and user experience for families.
Our in-house reporting tools enabled clear impact reporting for actionable insights into participation and outcomes, helping the programme grow and better meet the needs of Naval families.
In addition, we support the project with social media content, press releases, and communications planning to drive awareness, celebrate successes, and connect more families with the opportunity.
I am so excited about this opportunity to encourage sailing by Service personnel and their families. The Youth Crew programme sits alongside our Sail Together initiative as we work to embed sailing and its many benefits as a life-long pastime for the Naval community. I am hugely grateful to Greenwich Hospital for their funding and energy, the RYA for their strong support and to Andrew Simpson Foundation for their expertise and close partnership work.
