What it means to us
Making a donation in memory of someone special is a powerful way to celebrate their life while supporting a cause they cared about, or one you believe they would have been proud to stand behind.
By donating in memory to the Andrew Simpson Foundation, you help more young people discover the confidence, community, and inspiration that sailing and watersports can bring. Together, we can transform lives through sailing in their memory.
Why donate in memory?
Whether you’re remembering a family member, friend, or loved one, your donation becomes part of something greater. Your gift will help us fund subsidised watersports programmes for young people, provide access to training and qualifications for those with fewer opportunities, support mental health and resilience through time on the water, extend our outreach into communities that need it most, and keep the spirit of generosity, adventure, and community alive.
Sailing was my dad’s life and passion. He started sailing as a boy and carried on into his later years. Building his first boat as a teenager. He sailed Albacore’s, Fireball’s, Solo’s and Flying Fifteen’s, winning many races and events at Portchester Sailing Club, Fareham Sailing Club, Hayling Island Sailing Club with a career highlight of winning the 1995 Flying Fifteen National’s in Torquay. He was well known for his ingenious technical innovations and his talent for seeking out the best wind and rounding the mark way before anyone else.
Please donate to this wonderful charity which offers young people the opportunity to experience sailing and reflects my dads lifelong passion for everything afloat.”
