Nick and Cal will set sail from Cowes, Isle of Wight, on Sunday 7th August at 11:00 sailing a Jeanneau Sun Fast 3600 ‘Diablo’ and aim to finish the 1,805nm course in 12 days. They are racing in a fleet of 38 other boats, 20 of which are double-handed.

Nick says,

“I’ve been lucky enough to have competed in many of the most notorious races around the world including Sydney-Hobart, RORC Fastnet, Round Ireland, Middle Sea and RORC Caribbean 600. This year, my co-skipper Cal and I will compete double-handed in the RORC Sevenstar Round Britain and Ireland, an 1800 mile, non-stop race regarded as one of the most challenging in the world as we encounter the English Channel, Atlantic Ocean and North Sea with much of the race close to land with its many hazards and shipping traffic.

I want to use this opportunity to fundraise for a charity I truly believe in, the Andrew Simpson Foundation as I believe all kids deserve an opportunity in life. I hope you will find it in your heart to support Cal and me in our endeavours to provide support for this great charity”.

Absolutely everything they do is driven by their belief that all young people have the ability to excel and succeed in life and work.
