A number of sailing and yacht clubs in the Caribbean that have been affected by Hurricane Irma have taken part in Bart’s Bash in previous years and had planned to hold an event during next weekend’s Bart’s Bash.
Today HRH The Duchess of Cambridge visited the Land Rover BAR headquarters in Portsmouth, home of the America’s Cup team, to launch the 1851 Trust’s 2016 sailing programme.

Sailing star Sir Ben Ainslie has accepted an official Guinness World Record Certificate for Bart’s Bash, the charity global sailing race that took place on 21 September 2014. It is now officially the largest sailing race on one day in the world.
